John's will dated April 13, 1726, which names his wife and three sons, was admitted to probate, at Lebanon, Windham Co., CT, on September 13, 1726.

He married Margaret LINSFORD, daughter of Edward LINSFORD (abt 1647-1697) & Hannah PLUMLEY (abt 1650-), abt 1707. Born on 6 Feb 1682/3 in Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA. Died aft 1735. Ancestor.

Deeded land to son Linsford on 29 Apr 1735

7. Martha MOREY (George3, George2, George1). Born on Mar 12, 1698/9 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI. Christened on 4 Apr 1699 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI.

She first married Thomas TABER, son of Joseph TABER (abt 1646-1735) & Hannah GRAY, on 9 Aug 1723 in (int. 24 Jun 1723) Bristol, Bristol Co., RI. Died in 1728. Occupation: Cordwainer.

Thomas' father, Joseph Taber (1646-1735), was son of Philip Taber (1605-1692).

Thomas died intestate about 1729, and Martha was called "widow" in Bristol records of 1730.

Residences: Tiverton, 1624, and Swanzey, 1624.

He married Anttris PEARCE, on 24 Jun 1753 in Tiverton, Newport Co., RI.

She second married Ebenezer GARNSEY, son of John GARNSEY, on 19 Feb 1734/5. Born on 4 Mar 1687 in Milton, Norfolk Co., MA. Died on 9 Feb 1735/6 in Rehoboth, Bristol Co., MA. Occupation: Carpenter.

Ebenezer, of Barrington, married first on January 19, 1709/10, Mehitabel WEST, who was born April 26, 1688 to John and Mehitabel WEST, and died in early 1733. Ebenezer and Mehitabel had eight children.

Ebenezer and Martha had no known children.

8. Maj. Thomas MOREY (George3, George2, George1). Born on Jan 1, 1708/9 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI. Christened on 20 Mar 1709 in Bristol, Bristol Co., RI. Died on 28 Jul 1775 in Norton, Bristol Co., MA.

Thomas was commisioned as a Lt. of the 7th Co. 6th Mass. Regt. on February 7, 1744/5, as Capt. in 1758, and as Maj. of the 3rd Bristol County Regt. in 1761. Thomas served Norton, MA as Assessor (1752, 1754, 1756, 1760 and 1761), Town Moderator (1759), Selectman and Representative (1754-1763), Justice of the Peace (1762), and Treasurer (1762, 1773-1774). Note that some of these positions may have been held by his son Thomas MOREY, with the records not clearly differentiating between the two.

1747: Thomas MOREY, Sr. licensed to run a Public House.
1767: Thomas MOREY, Esquire, "of Norton," purchased, with several others, the rights to Township #4 (known as Gageborough), from William WILLIAMS (Deeds, Book 3).
1770: Thomas MOREY, Esquire, "of Norton," purchased additional parcels from Noah NASH of Hatfield, one of the original four purchasing Township #4 (Deeds, Book 8).

Residences: Called 'Of Hancock in County of Berkshire, MA, Yeoman' in 1792 sale of land inherited from 'Thomas Morey, Esdquire, Of Norton, MA' (Book 71, page 68, Bristol County Land Records).
