She married William Carroll CYPERT, son of Jesse CYPERT (1 Jun 1784-26 Jun 1856) & Jemima WORTHEN (23 Jul 1786-1853), on 24 Jan 1833 in Wayne Co., TN. Born on 10 Feb 1815 in Indian Creek, Wayne Co., TN. William Carroll died in Alton Prison, Madison Co., IL, on 5 Mar 1865. Buried in Alton Prison Cem., Madison Co., IL.

From a descendant via email in Aug 2003: "On April 23, 1863, he [William Carroll Cypert] was captured in Pontotoc Co., Miss. as a Citizen and was taken to Alton Prison in IL. He died there on March 5, 1865, as a prisoner of the Civil War. He possibly died of Typhoid Fever or smallpox. It is not known why he was captured and detained at the Alton prison. He may have been hiding confederate soldiers and refused to sign an oath to the north in order be released. The source of this comes from the microfilm of Alton Prison records."
