Mr. Mason became a member of the Boston police department in 1893, and continued with it for thirty-five years, until his retirement in 1927, and during that time having been absent from duty only sixty-five days. Patrolman for fifteen years, sergeant for ten years, lieutenant for four years and captain for six years. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, No. 95, at Paris, Maine, joining in 1885, and the Ebenezer Fuller Lodge at Brighton, Mass., about 1921, and a deacon in the Allston Congregational Church. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mason are members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Keystone Chapter, No. 18. Their son was born in the same house in which his parents were married.

He married Abbie Gertrude Pierce, daughter of William Lord Pierce & Abbie Merrill Edwards, on 23 Sep 1896 in Allston, Mass. Born on 23 Jul 1875. Data from Mason.

Until 1889 Mr. Mason resided at Paris, then he moved to Westbrook where he became interested in the furniture business. He was active in town affairs, being captain of the fire company and president of the Lawn Tennis Club. In 1893 he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church of Westbrook. In December 1895 he moved to Pepperell, Mass., and there interested himself in the paper industry. He is a member of the 1. 0. 0. F. and the Encampment.

He married Hannah Cleaves Nash, daughter of Francis Masure Nash & Juliett Westcott, on 12 Dec 1894 in Westbrook, Maine. Born Raymond, Maine, on 4 Dec 1872. Data from Mason.
