SML Comment: Email received in June 2011 from Susan Barry informs that the MASON GENEALOGY errors in stating that Margaret married George CHASE, who was husband of Margaret's sister Mary Ann. Baltimore Sun of 24 Jun 1852: Margaret Lidia Mason married Louis Dungan (b. 2 Aug 1826, d. 5 Apr 1894) on 22 Jun 1852. Baltimore, MD census records of 1860, 1870 and 1880 confirm that the the wife of Louis Dungan was Margaret L., with children Stevenson, age 16 in 1870, and Mary W., age 13 in 1870. From the 1880, 1900 and 1910 censuses, daughter Mary W. Dungan, b. Oct 1856, was wife of Samuel Robinson, b. Apr 1851, with children Emily C., age 3 in 1880, Morris B., b. Sep 1878, and James D., b. Dec. 1888. In 1900 Mary W. Robinson was married 24 years with 5 children, 3 living.

SML Comment: Baltimore Sun 22 Oct 1858: Mary Ann W. Mason married George B. Chase on 21 Oct 1858. Baltimore, MD census records of 1860, 1870 and 1880 confirm that the wife of George B. Chase was Mary A. W. and add an additional child, Ida O. Chase, age 9 in 1880. In 1870, Mary's mother Mary W. Mason, age 59, and sisters Josephene Mason, age 24, and Ida O. Mason, age 23, lived in the Chase household.
