She married Jesse Ripley Appleton, son of Francis Appleton & Mary Ripley, on 11 Mar 1852. Born Dublin, N. H., on 25 Apr 1809. Died Dublin, N. H., on 27 Jul 1904. Data from Mason.

Mr. Appleton united with the church, October 31, 1834; chosen deacon, April 30, 1852, and held the office until March 13, 1890, when he resigned. He was owner of five shares in the Meeting House. Representative, 1871, 1872.

1653. Charles Kendall Mason (Calvin7, Thaddeus6, Thaddeus5, Benjamin4, Joseph3, Joseph2, Hugh1). Born Dublin, N. H., on 27 Jul 1830. Died Sanford, Maine, on 28 Mar 1912. Residence: Harrisville, N. H., after 1859, Marlborough, N. H. Data from Mason.

Mr. Mason was active in town affairs, serving as selectman, 1861; representative, 1861, 1862; justice of the peace, 1862 to 1883, inclusive; moderator, 1867 to 1879, inclusive; U. S. assistant assessor, for six years; member of school committee, 1878, 1879. In 1865 he was moderator at the meeting when the town voted to accept the gift of a library from Rufus S. Frost. In 1866 he, with others, formed a co-partnership under the name of the Marlborough Manufacturing Company and, in the spring of 1867, made at that mill the first horse blankets manufactured in Marlborough. In 1876 he was a member of the committee for the centennial celebration of Marlborough.
He was an expert penman and taught writing schools in the vicinity for many years and with great success. He was also on the school committee at Sanford, Maine.

He first married Adra Esther Mason (1154) , daughter of Jeremiah Mason (605) (11 Feb 1789-12 Sep 1858) & Sarah Fisk (2 Sep 1794-27 Nov 1870), on 2 Jun 1852 in Bellows Falls, Vt. Born Sullivan, N. H., on 26 Jan 1832. Died Marlborough, N. H., on 5 Mar 1861. Data from Mason.

He second married Elizabeth Herrick Andrews, daughter of Malachi Andrews & Elizabeth Herrick, on 27 Nov 1862 in Dublin, N. H. Born West Gloucester, Mass., on 5 Feb 1838. Died Sanford, Maine, on 25 Mar 1898. Data from Mason.

Mr. Mason received his education in the public schools of New Hampshire, and Cushing Academy, Ashburnham, Mass., Tufts College, Hon. A.M. 1904. He was a member of the firm, joy, Langdon and Co., 1898 to 1909, and with Wellington, Sears and Co. until 1915; treasurer and director of Hamilton Woolen Co., 1915-1928; treasurer of Universalist Publishing House since 1906; now, 1934, trustee of Franklin Savings Bank, Home for Aged Men, Dean Academy and Tufts College, also treasurer at Tufts, 1904 to 1923.

He first married Alice May Joy, daughter of John Dolbeare Waters Joy & Frances Emily Bassett, on 17 Jan 1893 in Boston, Mass. Born Boston, Mass., on 1 May 1870. Died Newton, Mass., on 19 Apr 1916. Data from Mason.
He second married Margaret Joy Farnham, daughter of Robert Farnham & Emma Jane Lowry, on 22 Apr 1919 in Washington, D. C. Born Washington, D. C, on 30 Aug 1881. Data from Mason.
