He is prominent in Masonic circles, a member of Maine Lodge, No. 20, Masons, Franklin Chapter, No. 44, R.A.M., Jephthah Council, No. 17, Pilgrim Commandery, No. 19, K.T. Maine Consistory, Scottish Rite, Kora Temple and Shrine. In 1925-1927 he was a member of the legislature, a director in the Peoples National Bank and treasurer of the Memorial Hospital.
