Mr. Mason received his education in the Bethel public schools and Gould Academy, after graduating from there he took a commercial course in the Eastman Business College, Poughkeepsie, N. Y. He then entered the industrial world and began the manufacture of dowels, which he continued uninterruptedly for twenty-seven years. In 1904 he engaged in manufacturing toys at South Paris, Maine, and being successful in his enterprises occupied a position of influence and importance in the industrial world of Portland and South Paris. His honor and integrity were unimpeachable, his sense of justice and his charity and tolerance broad and farreaching. He was a director in the Forest City Trust Company, Portland, and the Paris Trust Company of South Paris, also prominent in Masonic circles, a member of Deering Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Oxford Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, Council, Royal and Select Masters, St Albans Commandery, Knights Templar and Kora Temple and Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. He was a member of the Portland Club, in politics a Republican, in religion a Universalist. Residence, Bethel, Portland and South Paris, Maine.
He first married Maude Everett Kimball, daughter of John H. Kimball & Flora Derry, on 17 Oct 1894 in Bethel, Maine. Born Hermon, Maine, on 3 Aug 1871. Died Portland, Maine, on 29 May 1915. Buried Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine. Data from Mason.
