Mr. Mason was one of the representative men of Baltimore and the State of Maryland. He had a superior force of character and energy combined with ambition and a rare quality of executive ability, which made him a conspicuous figure both in public and private life. He assisted in developing manufacturing interests, spread commerce and also had a great interest for the welfare of Baltimore.

He first married Mary Dent, on 28 Sep 1846 in Baltimore, Md. Married by Rev. Mr. Shrigley. Died Baltimore, Md., on 24 Feb 1850. Data from Mason.
