Dr. Mason attended Bowdoin College for two years and later graduated from the Medical School of Boston University. He practised medicine in Calais and in the adjoining town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, where he was one of the first physicians affiliated with the Chipman Memorial Hospital. At one time he was president of the Maine Medical Association. He was also an accomplished musician and for twenty years was director of the St. Croix Festival Chorus.

He married Charlotte Augusta Smith, daughter of Seth Wheaton Smith & Charlotte Eaton Wright, on 2 Oct 1878 in Calais, Maine. Born Calais, Maine, on 11 Apr 1860. Died living 1931. Data from Mason.
