Mr. Mason was a prominent citizen of New Haven and held many positions of trust. Clerk of the New Haven City School District 1854 to 1868. At the annual meeting of the Parish of Trinity Church, April 8, 1844, he was elected a member of the vestry which office he held until April 17, 1876; clerk of the parish from April 25, 1859, to April 17, 1876; treasurer of Trinity Church Parochial School for many years; clerk and treasurer of Grove Street Cemetery for nineteen years.

He married Eliza Irene Isbell, daughter of John Isbell & Irena Newel, on 3 May 1837 in New Haven, Conn. Married by Rev. Harry Croswell, Rector of Trinity Church. Born Killingworth, Conn., on 6 Mar 1813. Died New Haven, Conn., on 20 Dec 1902. Buried Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven, Conn. Data from Mason.
