382. Nehemiah Mason (Esther5, Samuel4, Daniel3, John2, Hugh1). Born Watertown, Mass., on August ye 31, 1780. Died Portland, Maine, on 16 May 1826. Residence: Westbrook, Maine. Data from Mason.

Nehemiah Mason was a tanner. Nehehiah Mason Had two daughters but have been unable to find any record of even their names. "Death occasioned by drinking cold water, the weather being excessively warn."

He married Lydia Cutter, daughter of Jonas Cutter & Lydia Frost, on 16 Oct 1803 in Cambridge, Mass. Born Cambridge, Mass., on 24 Apr 1787. Baptized Menotomy, Mass., on 16 Nov 1788. Died Philadelphia, Pa., age over 60 years. Data from Mason.

383. Daniel Mason (Esther5, Samuel4, Daniel3, John2, Hugh1). Born Watertown, Mass., on June ye 1, 1782. Died Westbrook, Maine, on 23 Aug 1864. Buried Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine. Residence: Westbrook, Maine. Data from Mason.

According to Land Records, 1814, "Daniel Mason Jr., Gentleman, of Westbrook, conveyed land there." February, 1817, he and his brother, Samuel, bought land in Westbrook (formerly Falmouth) lying to the southeast of Deer Bill. 1819 he conveyed land to his mother, his brother Nehemiah being one of the witnesses. February, 1820, he and his mother conveyed land in Westbrook. 1821 he again conveyed land to his mother. July, 1851, he is recorded as buying and selling land in Westbrook. Daniel Mason was a tanner, also "licensed as a Retailer with permission to sell spirituous liquors to be drank in his shop," April 26, 1831. Daniel Mason and his wife are buried in the Frederick L. Bradford lot.

384. Samuel Mason (Esther5, Samuel4, Daniel3, John2, Hugh1). Born Watertown, Mass., on June ye 8, 1783. Died Westbrook, Maine, on 4 Feb 1837. Buried Stroudwater Cemetery. Residence: Stroudwater, Maine. Data from Mason.

Samuel Mason, besides being a tanner, in 1820 engaged in beef packing and also had a large truck garden. Died "two o'clock Sunday morning." Grave stones, in November 1931, were in a perfect state of preservation, and his Lot is beside the Gen. Means Lot.

Joel Mason served in the War of 1812-1814. "Joel Mason, Private, Capt. M. Ames' Co. Lieut. P. Osgood's Regt. From July 1 to July 30, 1814. Raised at Boston, service at Boston." (Reference, Massachusetts Militia Records of War of 1812-1814. Grave stones (December 1834) were in excellent condition.
