Levi Loring was a school teacher for many years, studied theology and was ordained colleague to Dr. Paul Coffin of Buxton, Maine, 1817, and remained with that church for eighteen years. He then moved to Anson Maine, where he lived till 1846, preaching there and at Athens, Maine, then to Milton, Mass., but returned to Maine and ministered at Shapleigh, Biddeford and Athens. He was one of the founders of the Christian Mirror of Portland, and a strong advocate of prohibition.
