Willard Mason served in the War of 1812. "Willard Mason, Private, Capt. A. Soule's Company, Lieut.-Col. C. Clark's Regt. from September 13 to Sept 24, 1814. Raised at Turner, service at Portland." (Reference, Record of Massachusetts Militia in War of 1812-1814, page 177.)
He was a farmer, also a pump maker which in those days required considerable skill and time as they were made from a hollowed tree trunk.

He first married Lucy Coburn, daughter of Jonas Coburn & Lucy Varnum, on 20 Jan 1799 in Turner, Maine. Born on 8 Apr 1779. Died Turner, Maine, on 17 Dec 1815. Data from Mason.

Nathaniel Mason served in the War of 1812. "Nathaniel Mason, Private, Capt. I. Reynolds' Company, Lieut.-Col. W. Ryerson's Reg't. from September 25 to November 7, 1814. Raised at Minot and vicinity, service at Portland." (Reference, Records of Massachusetts Militia in War of 1812-1814, page 260.)
He was a farmer and cabinet maker, and in 1819 moved to Minot and with the exception of two years passed at Portland, Maine, resided there until his death.
