He first married Sarah Nichols (1294) , daughter of James Nichols (9 Aug 1801-8 May 1873) & Leonora Johnson (801) (14 Feb 1803-5 Sep 1864). Born on 22 Jan 1830. Died La Grange, Ohio, on 14 Mar 1852.

ii.  George W.. Born on 12 Jul 1851. Died on 2 Aug 1851.

He second married Elizabeth L. Hastings, on 25 Dec 1860.

He was born in Jefferson County, N.Y. and removed to Ohio with his parents when four years old. In 1856 removed to Michigan.

He married Abigail A. Moon, daughter of Joseph Moon & Mary Leet, on 6 Jul 1842.
