   Cynthia Johnson Gay: NH Vital records at Dept. of Welfare, Concord, NH states that the Cynthia Gay who died at Manchester NH on 9 Dec 1880, aged 80 years and three months, was born in MA and was the daughter of Obed Johnson and Lucy Holmes Johnson of Sharon, MA.
   MARRIAGE: Walpole Marriages to the Year 1850: "Cyntha Johnson of Sharon, and Wilber Gay, int. Dec. 11, 1825."
   MARRIAGE: Sharon VR p. 98 names Wilber Gay "of Walpole".
   Wilber (Wilbur) Gay was born 24 Aug 1798 at Wrentham, MA to Joseph Gay and Elizabeth Wilber, Wrentham MA VR, Vol. 1, p. 95. He died of apoplexy 2 Oct 1865 at Manchester , NH, aged 67 years, NH VR at Concord, NH. Buried in Valley Cemetery, lot 234, Manchester, NH.
The newspaper notice of his death called him Deacon Gay, see Manchester Library Scrapbook Collection, vol. 7, p. 177.
   Probate records at Hillsborough County Court House in Nashua show he died intestate. The inventory listed no real estate. One item included in the inventory was the ownership of three pews in the First Universalist Society Church. His widow, Cynthia, was appointed to administer the estate.
   Census records of 1830 and 1840 show Wilber as a resident of Goffstown, NH. He first appears in the Manchester Directory of 1848 as having a home on West Concord St. The directory was published every two years so he probably moved to Manchester in 1847. The 1850 US Census lists the following information about family 376 in Manchester, NH:
Wilbur Gay, age 52, machinist, born in MA.
Cynthia Gay, 50, b. in MA.
Cynthia H. Gay, 17, b. in NH. (1832)
Johnson W. Gay, 12, b. in NH.(1838) (NH VR, Johnson Gay died of phthisis consumption 20 July 1858 in Manchester NH)
Myra P. Gay, 9, b. in NH. (1841-1883) (She m. John Flavel Woodbury.)
   Other records mention a child Ezra Gay, but he is not in 1830, 1840 or 1850 census records.
   Cynthia H. Gay was b. 20 Sept 1832 Amoskeag, Hillsborough, NH, d. 29 Oct 1877 Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence, NY. She is buried in Ogdensburg Cemetery. She m. James Harvey Morgan 30 Nov 1852 Manchester, Hillsborough, NH. Cynthia and James moved to Ogdensburg, NY soon after their marriage and spent the rest of their lives there. Their children were: Alice Grace (1858), Carrie J. (1860), James Wilbur (1864), Grace Louise (1866), Harold James (1871), and Charles Harvey Morgan (1872).

She married Wilbur Gay, on 1 Jan 1826.
