Gone To Texas Pioneer

The Texas State Genealogical Society (TSGS) will issue Gone To Texas Pioneer Certificates to individuals who are direct descendants of settlers that resided in Texas prior to 1886. Eventually the information submitted will be published. In addition to receiving a Pioneer Certificate, applicants will be helping to preserve the history of ancestral pioneers.

To qualify for a Pioneer Certificate, a required application must be sent to TSGS. The applicant must prove direct descent from a person who was in Texas prior to 1886.

The applicant need not be a resident of Texas nor have ever lived in Texas. Any individual may apply. A separate certificate may be issued for each ancestor proven. A fee is charged for each certificate.
