The Society of Kentucky Pioneers
For those who have one or more direct ancestors who resided in Kentucky on or before 31 December 1800.
This Society, formed in 1982, allows recognition of those persons who have the proud heritage of a direct ancestor who resided within the limits of what is now the Commonwealth of Kentucky on or before 31 December 1800. Membership also provides knowledge among family researchers and historians of such ancestors of others and is an aid in developing your own family genealogy.
Upon acceptance, you will receive a large Certificate, certifying you are a direct descendant of a Kentucky pioneer. This will specify the details and will be suitable for framing. A new applicant applying on an ancestor that has already been proven is only required to document back to the connection in the proven line. This is why it is so important that you thoroughly document all of your data. Kentucky Pioneer Ancestors, a book documenting pioneer ancestry and connections to the member and considerable other genealogical information will be published as sufficient records are gathered from the files to justify it. These will be available to all members at a reduced price.
The Kentucky Pioneer Genealogy and Records is the official quarterly publication of the Society. It will be distributed to each applicant for membership and to each member in good standing. It is also available by subscription to non-members.
For contact information try The Hereditary Society Community. Some additional direct ancestors who would qualify as Kentucky Pioneer Ancestors are:
Charles Hazelrigg and Lucinda Holloway, Sarah (Knox) Hazelrigg, John Holloway and Millie Bunch, William Hazelrigg, Sr., George Holloway and Mary Emley, and Zachariah Bunch.
