The family photo (on glass) is of John F. Marks and wife Candace Merrill,
taken in the early 1840s at Cherry Valley, NY. The two young ladies are most
likely daughters Elmina and Mary, both of whom married in 1849. The photo of
Candace (Merrill) Marks is from about 1885, after the death of her husband.
