Theodore Lawson
THEODORE LAWSON Theodore "Ted" Philip Lawson, 84, of Las
Vegas, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010. Born Oct. 11, 1925 in
Seattle, to James and Phillipa Lawson, Ted was raised in Claremore,
Okla. He moved to California, where he met and married Esther Cunha in
1945. The devoted couple made their home in Orange County, Calif.,
before relocating to Las Vegas in 1995. A U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II, Ted later was a 37-year employee of Kwikset
Locksets in Anaheim, Calif., where he worked as an industrial engineer.
In his leisure time, he served on various church committees and as a
volunteer for Valley Hospital. He also enjoyed golf, gardening, bowling
and travel. Ted is survived by his wife, Esther and three children,
Steven Lawson (Linda) of Rancho Mirage, Calif., Timothy Lawson of Las
Vegas, and Susan Sanders (Burt) of Las Vegas. He also is survived by
eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many brothers,
sisters and their families. Ted was predeceased last year by his oldest
son, Michael Lawson (Susan) of Placentia, Calif. A memorial celebration
of life service will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Christ
Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Road, Las Vegas, with Pastor Bill
Phillips officiating.
