 Will of John Johnson - July 30, 1750

(Goochland Co. VA, Deed book 6, 1749-1755, pages 121-122)

   In the name of God Amen. I John Johnson of the County of Goochland calling
to mind that all Flesh must Die, & at present being much afflicted with
sickness tho' of perfect Sence & memory, do make & ordain this my Last Will
& testament, that is to say Imprimus, I give & bequeath my Soul into the
Hand of God that gave it, & my Body to the dust to be decently buried at
the Discretion of my Executors and as for the Worldly Goods I am possesed
with in this World I give & dispose of as Followeth.
Imprimis, I give & bequeath unto my Son Danl. Johnson four hundred acres
of Land whereon he liveth, to him my said son Daniel, to him & his Heirs
forever.
Imprimis, I give & bequeath unto my Son John Johnson, four hundred acres
of Land joyning on Daniel's line, being the first Survey I took up on the
Branches of the byrd Creek to him my said son John, to him & his Heirs
forever.
Imprimis, I give & bequeath unto my son Joseph Johnson two hundred acres
of Land being part of the Survey whereon I now live, lying on both sides the
Mill Creek of the South end of the Tract, to him my said son Joseph, & his
Heirs Forever.
Imprimis, I give & bequeath unto my Son James Johnson two hundred acres &
Plantation whereon I now live, to him my said Son James & his Heirs
forever.
Imprimis, I give & bequeath unto my Brother Isaac Johnson fifty acres of
Land part of my Father's first tract being left out of his Will when made
to him the said Isaac, & his Heirs forever.
Imprimis, I give and bequeath unto Stephen Benja Johnson fifty Acres of
Land laid of and being part of the Land above Mentioned. I give to my
Brother Isaac Johnson the said fifty Acres of Land. I give to ye sd St
Benja Johnson to him and his Heirs forever. Item, and for ye rest of my
estate be it of what kind or quallity soever I leave it to the disposiall
of my bloved Wife Mary Johnson who [me?] with my son Daniel Johnson I
apoint my Executors of this my Last Will & Testament utterly making Voy'd
all former Wills & Testaments by me made.
As Witnefs my hand & Seal this the 30th Day of July 1750.

thereupon admitted to Record.

Will of Daniel Johnson - January 25, 1754

   In the name of God amen I Daniel Johnson of Goochland County do make and
ordain this to be my Last Will in manner & form as folloeth viz.
Imprimise I give and bequeath unto my son William one hundres Acres of
Land part of the tract of land whereon I now live encluding the South side of
mil Creek & allso one horse named Shaver & one Cow & one hifer three years old
two young Sows with pigg to my said son William and his heirs forever & twenty
pound Cash when kc.
I give unto my son John Johnson one hundred Acres of Land including the
plantation whereon I now live on North sid mil Creek and thrity nine pound
by a bond of wm. Swanfon and one Horse named Cannon & a year old Colt named
Smoaker and two young Cows and two Sows with pig to my said son John
Johnson and his heirs for Ever.
I give and bequeath unto my daughter Usly Wood twenty pounds Eight Sillings
and one Horse named Jack & two Cows & two Sow with pigs to my said Daughter
usley wood and hur heirs for Ever.
I Lend to my loving wife agnis all my personall Estate nor heartofore
mentioned during hur natuall Lif or widdohod and if she should Marry my
hole Estate not hearetofore mentioned in ligesies to be Equally devided
between my wif and children or after hur deceas to be devided between my
three children.
my will is that my Estate shall not be apraised nor inventaried. I also
apinte my Brother James Johnson and my son William Johnson and my Son John
Johnson Executors to this my Last will in testimony heareof I hearto set my
hand and Seal this twenty fifth day of January one thousand seven Hundred
and fifty fore in the presents of us.

Will of Matthew Hutcheson - March 13, 1749/50

   In the name of God Amen. I Matthew Hutchason of the County of Goochland 
do make & ordain this my Last Will & Testament in Mannor & form following
vis.
I give to my beloved Son Matthew three hundred acres of Land Lying on the
Brook in Henrico County with all the Appurtenances thereunto belonging to him
& his Heirs forever.
I give all my Land on broad Branch in Goochland County to be equally divided
between my beloved Sons William and David to them & their Heirs forever,
But not Intending that the aforementioned Wm & Davd. or either of them or
their or Either of their Heirs shall have any Wright or Claim to the afore-
mention'd Land till after the decease of their Mother.
I give to my loving Wife Ellinner Hutchason all the rest of my Estate booth
rail & Personal during her natural life & after her decease to be Equally
devided amongst my five Children Matthew, William, David, Elizabeth & Hannah.
Also my Will is that if my Wife should Die before my youngest Child Come to
age that then my Son in Law Wm Johnson take the Estate & cear of the Children
till they come of age.
Also my will is that my Estate shall be Aprais'd. I also appoint my Loving
Wife Ellinner Hutchason & Wm Johnson my Executors of this my last will &
Testament revoking all other Wills by me formerly made. In Witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 13th Day of March in the year of our
Lord 1749.

Will of Zachariah Bunch - April 3, 1794

In the name of God amen I Zachariah Bunch being weak of body but of sound
memory thanks be to god do this third day of April in the year of our lord
one thousand seven Hundred and ninety four make and ordain this my Last will
and Testament disallowing all other Will or Wills whatsoever do in like manner
as followeth (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Saby
Bunch all my whole and sole Estate after my decease during her widdowhood
Moreover my Will and desire is that part of my Estate be Sold to purchase one
hundred acres of land for to be Equally divided between my two sons Henry and
Clark Bunch Henry to have the first choice. Item I give unto my son Clark
Bunch one second rate cow and calf. Item I give unto my daughter Milly one
good second rate cow and calf. I give unto my Daughter Mourning five shills.
I give to my grandson James Cubbage one horse kind vallu'd to six pounds. I
also give to my youngest Daughters Anna and Lucy Bunch one feather bed to Each
and all the rest of my moveable Estate to be Equally divide between my children
Namely Henry Lucy and Anna the three youngest and I do hereby make and ordain
her my loving wife Saby Bunch my whole and sole executrix and Elijah Summers
my beloved friend my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament given under my
hand and seal the day and date first above written, signed, sealed in presence

One the Motion of Saby Bunch one of the Executors therein named who made
Oath thereto as the Law Directs, Certificate is Granted her for Obtaining a
probate thereof in due form giving Security Whereupon she Together with John
Holloway her Security Entered into and acknowledged Bond in the penalty of
£200 conditioned as the Law Directs, for the due and faithfull administration
of the said Decedants Estate and performance of his Will. Liberty being
reserved the other executor therein named to Join in the probate when he shall
think fit. Teste.

   In the Name of God Amen I Richard Parker of Chowan County in the Province
a fore Said do Make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament In manner
and form following that is to Say first I give My Sole into the hands of
God who Fave it and my Body to Be buried at the Discretion of my Executors
heare after Named And what worldly Goods I have, I do Dispose there of
as followeth
Imprimis I give and Bequesth unto My Son Richard Parker My Land and
Plantation whare I now Live Bounded By a Branch from the Mouth there of
up the Said Branch to a Markd white Oak thence a Long the Said Branch Side
by a line of Markt Trees to a gum thence up the Said Branch to a markt
tree Standing in the fork of the Said Branch thence by a line of Markt
Trees into a Pocoson a Corner tree Thence a long a line to Joseph Hortons
Line thence a Long the Said Line to Joseph Hortons Corner Tree thence running
a Long William E    els line to his Corner Tree thence Running a Long a
Line of Trees in the gaulberry Pocoson thence Runing a long a line of markt
Trees in the fork of the Litell Mare Branch from thence Runing Down the

Acres I Say to him and his heirs for ever.
Item I give and Bequeath my son Daniel Parker the Plantation and Land
where he Now Liveth Containing about three Hundred & fifty Acres and
Bounded as followeth Vizt Beginning at the Mill Swamp so binding on the
East Line of the Land already made a Long a line of markt Trees a Corner
tree thence Runing a Long John Mores Line thence Runing a Long a Line to
John Mores Corner tree thence Runing a long a Line of markt trees Pughs
thence Runing a Long a Line of trees In or neare the Contey Line thence
Runing a Long a Line of trees to a Coner tree Standing in the gaulberry
Pocoson thence to a markt tree Standing in the fork of the Mare Branch

Will of John Fuller - January 13, 1695/6

In the name of God Amen

I John Fuller of Newton in the County of Middlesex in his Majesties
Province of the Massachusets-bay in New-England being week in body, but in
sound and disposing memory, Praise be given to God for the same to make this
my last will and testament in manor & form following, this is to say first,
and principally I resign my soul into the merciful hand of almighty God my
creator auredly hoping through the merits of my Blessed Savior, to obtain
pardon & remission of all of my sins and my body I commit to the earth whence
it was taken to be Decently buried by the discretion of my executor and herin
after named and as for the wordly goods and estate the Lord hath lent me I
dispose therof as follows
Impl. I give and bequeth to my loving and dear wife Elizabeth a comfortable
maintenance of my movable estate and if that shall not be enough then to have
the liberty of any of my other estate, any thing hereafter to the contrary
not withtanding and a living in my now dwelling house and all this during her
natural life, to be allowed her by my executors herin after named, out of my
estate.
2 secondly I give and bequeth to my son John Fuller the housing and lands
he now enjoys lying along the south side Charles River, ading therto as much
out of the farm I now live on as shall make the same two hundred acres as I
have butted and bounded the said addition to him and his heirs forever.
3 thirdly I give and bequeth to my son Jonathan Fuller the housing and land
he now enjoys adding thereto out of the famland I now live on as much as
makes up the aforsaid land one hundred and fifty acres as I have bounded the
same to him and his heirs executor and administrator forever.
4 fondly I give and bequeth to my son Joseph Fuller the lands he now enjoys
and also a piece of [moads]: wland over the brook at the [uperend] of the
great meadow, adjoining unto the land of [Tm o] Parks to make him equal with
the rest of my sons to him and his heirs forever.
5 fifthly I give and bequeth to my son Joshua Fuller the housing and lands
he now livethg on to him and his heirs forever.
6 I give and bequeth to my son Jeremiah Fuller the land I formerly gave him
wheron he now liveth, adding therto out of the farm abovesaid as much as
Maketh up what he already enjoyeth, one hundred and fifty acres as the [farm]
is now butted and bonded to him and his heirs forever and it further my will
that if any of my above named sons shall be A joint consent agree to the
altering of the bounds of the lands above given and bounded to them, nary
thing contrary notwithstanding, and also it is my will that my above son
shall each and every one of the have equal liberty to Dig and Cart of clay
from the clay-pits in the above farm.
7 seventhly to all that I have formerly given unto my daughter Elizabeth
Hide Deceased, I give and bequeth unto her children tho which I have had the
Care of bringing up and maintaining what they have already had and to my
grandson, alias grandchild Jonathan Hide the youngest son of my above said
daughter, ten pounds in or as money to be paid to him by my son Joseph Fuller,
whom Jo Hide shall be twenty one years of age, and my [so] son joseph to pay
the same forth Right and interest I have in the Malt house he now occupieth,
and further it is my will that if the abovesaid Malt-house shall by Causualty
be burnt or any ways destroyed by accidental cause, the abovesaid legacy
of 10 pounds to be paid to my five sons above name, and if [so] Jonathan
Hide do not live to the age abovesaid, then my will is that the abovesaid
ten Pounds shall be equally divided between my three grandchildren viz Mary
Brown & Elizabeth Hide, and Hannah Hide
eighthly I give and bequeth to my daughter Bethiah Bond twenty pounds in
addition to what she hath already received of me towards her portion, to be
paid her by my son Joseph Fuller, as followeth fewer pounds per year, until
the whole sum be paid in consideration wherof I give to my son Joseph Fuller
the land I purchased of Jeremiah Moss, be the same more or less.
9 ninethly I give and bequeth to my five sons abovesaid house barns out-
houses orchard and land coveying two hundred and fifty acres be the same more
of less to them and their heirs forever, to be equally divide betwen them at
my death. Provide my five sons abovesaid do comfortably and honorably
maintain my abovesaid wife in sickness and health during her natural life,
and further my will is that my abovesaid sons shall not alinate the above
given and granted unto any stranger until first the next Relation of the
above said Fullers have the offer of it, and all the rest and residue of my
estates goods and cattle, not herin before bequethed after my debts and
funeral expenses discharged, I do give and bequeth unto my very dutiful sons
John Fuller, Jonathan Fuller, Joseph Fuller, Joshua Fuller & Jeremiah Fuller,
who I do make sole executor of this my last will and testament [peroling] all
other wills by me. In witness wherof I have herunto set my hand and seal this
thirteenth day of January one thousand six hundred ninety five [six] and the
seventh year of his Majesties Reign.

mistake of said Sawin ye writer of said will and ought to have been written
Bethiah Hide as appears by ye copy taken from ye deceased mouth by wich he
